U.S. Rig Count Decreases by 1 and Canada Increases by 11

According to Baker Hughes data from February 22nd, 2013, the U.S rig count for this week is 1,761 rigs exploring for or developing oil or natural gas. This number represents a decrease of 1 rig from last week. Compared to last year the 1,761 count is a decrease of 220 rigs. Canadian rigs increased by 11 to 662 rigs this week, a decrease of 39 rigs from a year ago. International rigs increased by 26 to 1,279 rigs last month, an increase of 108 rigs from a year ago.
