SMU Comparison Price Indices

With the exception of SteelBenchmarker, which is only published twice per month, benchmark hot rolled pricing was between $640-$645 per ton (Steel Orbis did not report prices to SMU this week). Platts, which is being mentioned by some mills as replacing the CRU indices for future price adjustments, did take their hot rolled and cold rolled prices lower and are now within $5 per ton of our SMU indices.
FOB Points for each index:
SMU: Domestic Mill, East of the Rockies.
CRU: Midwest Mill, East of the Rockies.
SteelBenchmarker: Domestic Mill, East of the Mississippi.
SteelOrbis: Midwest Domestic Mill.
Platts: Within 200-300 mile radius of Northern Indiana Domestic Mill.
