AISI Elects Arcelor Mittal CEO Chairman

Mike Rippey, president and CEO of ArcelorMittal USA, has been elected Chairman of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Rippey will serve as chairman until May 2015, leading advocacy efforts on behalf of AISI and the industry to advance pro-manufacturing polices that will enhance the competitiveness of the North American steel industry.
“Mike’s been a strong leader in our industry and we’re honored to have him serve as our chairman for the next year,” said Thomas J. Gibson, AISI president and CEO. “His work to advance comprehensive and well-funded infrastructure policy, promote effective energy policy and champion steel against competing materials, has been vital to ensuring that steel remains the backbone of America.”
