SMU Comparison Price Indices: Modest Movement (except Platts)

With the exception of Platts, the balance of the steel indexes followed by Steel Market Update dropped slightly with benchmark hot rolled coil now averaging $667 per ton, down $4 per ton for the week. When looking at cold rolled Platts was unchanged, SMU was up $5 per ton to $785 per ton with CRU and SteelBenchmarker down $7 and $10 respectively.
Galvanized numbers also dropped an average of $9 per ton and Galvalume held its own for the week.
FOB Points for each index:
SMU: Domestic Mill, East of the Rockies.
CRU: Midwest Mill, East of the Rockies.
SteelBenchmarker: Domestic Mill, East of the Mississippi.
Platts: Northern Indiana Domestic Mill.
