Final AD/CVD Determinations on Cold Rolled from China and Japan Expected Tuesday

On May 17, 2016, the Department of Commerce is scheduled to announce its final determinations in the AD investigations of imports of certain cold-rolled steel flat products from China and Japan and CVD investigation of imports of certain cold-rolled steel flat products from China.
The investigations cover certain cold-rolled, flat-rolled, steel products, neither clad, plated, nor coated with metal, but whether or not annealed, painted, varnished, or coated with plastics or other non-metallic substances. Cold-rolled steel may be used “as is” or further processed by galvanizing or coating. Cold-rolled steel is primarily used in appliances, automotive products, containers, and construction.
The petitioners in the investigation are AK Steel, ArcelorMittal USA, Nucor, Steel Dynamics, and US Steel.
In 2015, imports of certain cold-rolled steel flat products from China and Japan were valued at an estimated $272.3 million and $138.6 million, respectively.
The DOC will release a fact sheet on Tuesday along with the announcement.
