    Four Mills Accuse China of Circumventing Trade Orders

    On Thursday, September 22, 2016 four steel mills: ArcelorMittal USA, Nucor, AK Steel and US Steel submitted petitions asking the US Department of Commerce to review imports of cold rolled and corrosion resistant steels (galvanized and Galvalume) arriving in the United States from Vietnam as actually being a way for China to circumvent antidumping and countervailing duty orders. California Steel and SDI submitted a CORE (corrosion resistant) complaint against Vietnam on Thursday as well which SMU wrote about in our Thursday evening issue. The other four mills: ArcelorMittal USA, Nucor, AK Steel and US Steel provided the following press release regarding their challenge that the Vietnamese exports of CR and galvanized/Galvalume is nothing more than Chinese circumvention of dumping rulings.
