NLMK USA steel output increased by 53 percent quarter-over-quarter in Q1 2017 to 180,000 tonnes and by 15 percent year-over year.
Flat steel output rose 27 percent q/q to 530,000 tonnes (up 16 percent y/y) due to strong demand in the United States. Sales were up 33 percent from last quarter to 560,000 tonnes driven by growing demand in the OCTG and construction sectors.
