Steel Warehouse Buys Siegal Steel

Steel Warehouse, South Bend, Ind., has acquired Chicago-based Siegal Steel. The company will continue to operate using the Siegal Steel name under the direction of the current management and operating teams. Further details of the transaction were not released.
Founded in 1940, Siegal is a niche steel service center providing heavy-gauge high carbon steel, low carbon steel, high-strength low alloy and stainless steel materials. The company offers a range of value-added processing capabilities including edging, oscillate winding and slitting.
Steel Warehouse management commented that Siegal’s reputation for industry leading quality and operational excellence, along with their longstanding customer base, adds to the strength of the organization. Steel Warehouse is one of the largest family-owned industrial networks in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil focused on the metal service center sector.
