2019 SMU Steel Summit Conference - Details

Dates: Monday, Aug. 26 through Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019

Location: Georgia International Convention Center (www.gicc.com) adjacent to the Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Same location as last year.

Cost: $1,375 per person, prior to any discounts. We allow a $100 per person discount to those companies that are SMU or CRU customers/members. We allow a second discount of $100 per person for any company that sends two or more people to the conference. You do not need be a member/subscriber in order to qualify for the multi-person discount.

Attendance: In 2018, we hosted 912 executives; we are anticipating about 1,000 executives this year.

Hotels: You can register at any of the Gateway Hotels (see below) by calling 888-239-1203 and asking for the Steel Market Update room block. We do NOT have unlimited rooms and we expect our room blocks to sell out very quickly this year.

When to Arrive: The CME Group will host a program on steel and scrap futures on Monday late morning prior to our conference beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon. You will want to arrive on Monday morning or at the very latest early afternoon on Monday.

CRU Group will be hosting an aluminum conference beginning on Wednesday afternoon and ending the following afternoon.

Our Program: We intend on conducting a power program from the very beginning on Monday through Wednesday afternoon. Those of you who have attended past SMU Steel Summit Conferences know that we do not build “fluff” panels into our program.

When to Schedule Your Return: If you are staying for just the SMU Steel Conference, please schedule flights back home after 5 p.m. ET. Our program will end at 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday. If you choose to remain for the CRU Group Aluminum Conference, you will add one day and plan your departure after 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Attendees: Our attendees are manufacturing companies, service centers, steel mills, trading companies, toll processors, financial analysts, logistics companies and others associated with these industries. Our conference is THE PREMIER conference for networking as most attendees are decision-makers in purchasing, sales or upper management roles.
