AIST Names New President for 2019-2020
Written by Sandy Williams
Ronald J. O’Malley has been appointed president of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) for 2019–2020. O’Malley succeeds James F. Dudek of United States Steel Corp. O’Malley is the F. Kenneth Iverson Chair Professor in Steelmaking Technologies and director of the Kent D. Peaslee Steel Manufacturing Research Center at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Mo.
O’Malley said that taking on the presidency will give him an opportunity to return something to the organization. “AIST has given me so much, and I’ve reached a stage in my career where I feel like I can give back. I have always been active in AIST, but going forward, my rotation on the AIST executive committee gives me an opportunity to serve the larger AIST membership.”
