SMU Virtual Steel Summit Conference 2020

The 2020 SMU Steel Summit Conference will be a virtual conference this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage companies to learn more about how we intend to present valuable information on a wide range of topics of imporance to the greater steel community. We will discuss and forecast steel prices, the economy and commodity prices. The conference will focus on the new capacity being built and we will have differing opinions presented regarding Steelmageddon or a possible steel shortage heading our way. For the first time we will have a one-on-one discussion with David Burritt, President & CEO of U.S. Steel as well as Lourenco Goncalves, Chairman and CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs/AK Steel. Our program will include honoring young people in the industry with our SMU NexGen Leadership Award sponsored by the Steel Manufacturers Association. We will hear from steel buyers and analysts regarding what direction key industries are heading in 2021. This is only a fraction of what will be discussed at this year’s event.
As with every SMU event, networking will be a key component and we are working hard to insure interaction between attendees.
