ArcelorMittal USA informed customers today that it has raised the spot base price of all carbon, HSLA, alloy, heat treated, and specialty plate products by a minimum of $40 per ton. The increase takes effect immediately.
This is the latest change to steel plate prices in the past month. SSAB raised its prices by $40 per ton on May 18 and Nucor raised its prices by $50 on May 20.
Sheet prices slipped again, continuing a trend of lower week-over-week tags that began in mid-July.
Sheet prices slipped for the third consecutive week on continued discounts from certain mills for larger buyers.
