JSW Steel Confirms Idling of Mingo Junction
Written by Sandy Williams
JSW Steel USA Ohio confirmed it will temporarily idle its operations at Mingo Junction due to weak market demand. Employee layoffs are scheduled for July and August with workers to be called back once market conditions improve and operations resume.
“Unfortunately, market conditions in carbon flat rolled steel consuming sectors have deteriorated further since we restarted operations at Mingo Junction in June after a two-month outage,” said Mike Panzeri, chief operations officer.
