AM/NS Calvert Expects Outage from Hurricane Sally

Safety protocols and measures were deployed at AM/NS Calvert as Hurricane Sally made its way across the Gulf Coast this week. ArcelorMittal anticipates a two-day outage as result of difficult conditions in the communities surrounding the facility.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to our workforce, their families and communities that may be impacted by the storm,” said a spokesperson for ArcelorMittal. “We don’t anticipate any impact on our ability to meet customer demand as a result of the outage.”
AM/NS Calvert is located approximately 35 miles north of Mobile, Ala. Hurricane Sally made landfall on the Alabama shore as a Category 2 hurricane on Wednesday causing flooding, wind damage and power outages as it moved northeast toward Georgia and the Carolinas.
