Port Houston to Reopen After Nicholas
Written by Michael Cowden
Port Houston expects to resume normal operations today after being briefly closed ahead of Hurricane Nicholas.
Nicholas has since weakened into a tropical storm.

But port operations were closed on Tuesday because of the storm and because of “widespread power outages,” Port Houston said on Twitter.
“The safety of our team members and partners is our top priority,” the port said.
Market participants did not report any impacts on steel-producing facilities from the storm, but said the disruption could result in even lengthier delays when it comes to moving steel.
Port Houston is one of the largest ports in the U.S. and one of the primary hubs for the steel trade.
